All I have been doing this trip is makan makan makan

No wonder my dentist called me fat. Anyway, I'll be leaving for Melbourne tomorrow already, together with my family as we'll be going on a ski trip to Mount Buller. I'll miss my friends here so much. Sigh. Anyway, some pictures from my last week in Penang:

First off, together with some old classmates, I went for early dim sum Friday morning followed by a good ol' visit to MGS. It was so great to see Puan Ng again, and she hasn't changed a bit. Still the best and most lovable Maths teacher ever:)

MGS!

There's Mr Sara and Pn Leong. Is it me or is his belly even bigger now?

Traditional sleepover with my honeys:)

Our resident Miss Miow Miow, Shereen, came to Penang this past weekend!!

She came with a bunch of friends from KL and boy do they eat A LOT. Every meal table looked like that.

Dinner at Hai Nan Town in Weld Quay with Eevon and my family.

Ingolf's lunch with my brother, Jhensen.

Wan tan mee+Old Town catch up session with my very chatty+funny+gossipy Ann Ting & Ee Lynn<3

Dressing room fun!

Dinner at Crepes Cottage with Jhen, Darren, Ee Von and Sher.

Met up with Jasryn & Darren before that for cheesecake:)

Advice from Sher: Play more of "Wherever You Will Go'' for chicks.

Oh my god the desssertsss I've been having this past week:

Rituals

Every time I'm back in Penang, Eevon, Sher Lyn and I would go for Paddington's for pancakes. And we would always order the Treasure Box and share it for dessert. I love traditions:) This time though, much to our dismay, their portions shrank! Ugh. What else is new with restaurants these days.

Ee Von and Sher

Me and Ee Von

Me and Sher

micheevlyn. Hahaha, that was so form 4 of us.

We got real bored and a little silly while Sher was busy picking coloured shirts, so she ended up monologue-ing about which shirt to buy while Ee Von and I snapped away.

Matching pout-kisses

Oh we saw this really tall guy, is he realll??? The two guys beside him were of normal height (maybe 170cm or something) :O Look at the difference.

Please do not drive a Wira when you're around Sher Lyn. She claims Wira drivers are out to piss her off. Hahaha.

See the pretty maybe-palm tree reflected on my face?:)

After that we met up with Phey for dinner and managed to catch up with her since she's back for holidays from Nottingham U. Where is Kajang?? She claims it takes hours of driving to get to anywhere fun from Kajang.

There's One In This World For Everyone

My favourite soundtrack of all time is A Cinderella Story. Some soundtracks have some good songs and some bad ones, and some you just get sick of after awhile. But the songs from A Cinderella Story I've been listening to for years yet I still love them as much as before.

Sometimes when you just feel like giving in to fairytales, cliches, happy-endings, love-conquers-all stories and all that Disney jazz, this is what you need to listen to. My top picks from the soundtrack:
I'll Be - Edwin McCain
The Best Day of My Life - Jesse McCartney
Now You Know - Kara Dioguardi
Sympathy - Goo Goo Dolls
One In This World - Haylie Duff

My birthday balloons!

Birthday flowers colour-coordinated to match the balloons :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TEE YEE HOOI :) !

Let That Record Play

Certain people annoy me. I don't even know what  you are anymore. We should all learn to not care and let go of these people because, why should you let them affect you right? So not worth it.

Anyhooos:):) I am happy because my urgh week, as Carmen calls it, is over. I had a really really bad week and there was so much to do and so much on my mind and so much PMS-ing going around. Now I am just so relieved I have escaped to the other side safe and sound:)

I look like I want to poo poo right?

Teehee. Anyway, that picture was taken from the Victorian College of Arts, where Flare dancers performed in conjunction with some lets-make-friends-with-MelbourneUni thing that they held. Rehearsals were crazily overloading my weeks leading up to the event, but yeah once again, I am happy I made it through without killing myself..or something.

Flare's VCA performers:)

Then the next night, Friday, was the MUOSS Night Market themed 'Le Carnivale'. :) This time for the performance, dancers had to paint their faces according to the pieces they were in.

Ta-da!

The dancers who performed 'Circus'
I wonder how long it took for that guy to wash off his face paint later.

Easter break starts next week. Yay! We all deserve a holiday after this stressful half a semester. I'll be going camping (yes, like, in the woods) during Easter weekend, and then my family is coming:):):):):)

Hopefully I'll have more updates during the hols. Toods!

Lazy Daisy

Hello all! I am feeling like a lazy daisy. Uni is too much. Maybe this is the initial feeling and maybe i'll get over it and settle in properly in a while. But for now, hello!!!! What's with this never-ending chain of homework and readings that keep pouring in? I am looking at books more than I ever did, and it feels so unnatural to have to keep reminding myself to study. This is bothering me. I cannot live for 3 years like that.

Anyhoos.

I jut returned from ladies night with Shereen and Suet. It was great having big laughs and sharing stories over sparkling wine. But I only get to see them on weekends, since they're in a different uni. Last Friday night, Shereen, Suet, Jiah Lit and I got all ready and were suppose to go for the Back2School event at Seven, but then right! Damn super potong, we were late, and hence, denied entry. The only way to get in was to queue in the general queue, which was basically, un-queue-able because it wasn't moving at all. So Shereen, Jiah Lit, Suet and I gave up and decided to go to another club off Lt. Flinders, which we've never been to before. (I don't even remember the name of it, sigh shows how potonged I felt).

Suet & Wen.

Met Tracy there, whom I haven't seen in so long:)

Saturday was Moomba, the annual water festival thing in Melbourne. Carmen, Shen, Jun Jing, Jiah Lit, Yee Hooi and I went together. I love these sort of fun fair + carnival things. They just give you a happy cheerful feeling. Then later that night we watched the fireworks display, and we were sitting pretty close to the water, so we got an upclose view:)

Yesterday the Shopaholic movie finally came out in Australia, so a few of us went to watch it. I think none of us were really expecting much, cuz you know how book-turned-movies are like. Butttt, it wasn't bad at all, if you can mentally erase how disappointing Luke Brandon turned out to look like. Successful Savings??!? Plus the facial hair, and a bad haircut. But overall, it was a light-hearted, entertaining movie that really did make me go awww at times:)

Oh and its official, Yee Hooi and I will begin cooking for Jesse the chef once a month. Yay, and hopefully he'll give some pointers on how to improve our cooking. Domesticism is on its way!

Til next time:) Toodledoo!

The Sociological Imagination

Did you know? People don't commit suicide because of personal issues eg. bad grades or heartbreak, but their relationship and sense of belongingness in society. So old people are more inclined to the idea of taking their own lives because they feel less attached to the world since they've 'had their shot at life' and their time is up. And suicide rate among women are generally lower because females form stronger ties and have deeper relations with others compared to men. Right right? Something I picked up in Sociology.

Anyhoos, here's one single picture from the Amazing Race last week. The person who took the photos had a bad quality camera, so the pictures I have are crappy, so I will only spoil your eyes with one picture.

Sunday night, Jiah Lit and I had a heehee, post-valentine's day valentine's day. Since we didn't get to celebrate valentine's back in malaysia, he took me to Hardware Lane (spelling?) for  good steak and good wine and umm, lots of toasting. I think I should ban myself from consuming too much cow.

Dear Shennie, thank you for the super pretty cupcake! I feel sad eating it up:) And thank you for leaving it along with a cute note at my doorstep. And thank you dear unknown passer-by who might have seen the cupcake on the floor but did not steal it despite its 'ooh this could be yummy' appearance.

Look at Yee Hooi. Black stockings, umbrella , LBD and all, looking noob on a rainy day...

:)
