Hand Me My Manolos

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS:)
Hope everyone has been keeping to their resolutions so far?

For those who don't know, I'm currently doing an internship at a legal firm, its only for month. But this is my first job ever, there's a lot to soak up and I learn something new everyday. Though I'm really starting to see how the working world is like (not by doing the work myself, because lets face it, I'm an intern, what important job are they gonna let me do?) just through observing an office. And its not good, people. I think I'm gonna choose to study for as long as possible.

Anyways, this is really overdue but I've been quite busy since I got back to Penang, so this is about a month too late:) A few days after I landed back in Penang, I met up with Lynn and Tracy, two high school friends of mine who are currently very avid photogs:) They have been doing quite a lot of portrait shoots (ie. with people) and are really getting good at it:D So when they spontaneously asked me to do a shoot with them the next day, I happily accepted and was excited to see them in action and have them shoot me.

Click click flash flash. Wahh...it turned out to be an exhausting but nevertheless really cool day. I was asked to jump repeatedly, do dance-ish pose, balance on one leg and hold for like a million seconds, and not look like I was cringing inside. Hahaha tiring but very fun.

Here are snippets of the shoot. Click on their names to see more of their awesome talent:)

First photographer: Omar

Second photographer: Tracy

Third photographer: Lynn

There was a 4th photographer there too, Alan, but I don't have his pictures.
Last but not least, thanks guys for the great day! <3

Feel free to approach these exciting new talents (ie. my friends la) and get them to shoot you! You get to choose your concept, setting, outfit etc. and voice out whatever you envision yourself to be. There's nothing like seeing yourself be transformed onto film, and that's what they do best:)

That Time of Year

Where rehearsals come in shitloads of hours

When boys put on makeup

When great photography is displayed

When the sound and lighting crew are our heroes

Where flexibility is of the utmost importance

When synchronisation comes into play

When backstage is nothing short of Poser Central

When eyeliner runs out

Where boys get freaky

...and girls get nasty

When blood, sweat and tears goes into producing a lift

When bonds are formed

When the ensemble hoodie is worn with pride

When gravity is defied

When stories can be told

When friends and family come with a handful of support (and flowers!)

When the love for dance is laid out on stage for all to see

That time of year

is a cause for celebration

Sorry la, very overdue post. And i might've used 21 whens and wheres. I just miss it, that's all:)

Better Days

Its truly been awhile everyone! But here I am, three assignments and two law tests down:) Spring break starts next week, and I am sooo looking forward to it.

Work-wise, this has been a very overbearing semester. But we always manage to find some fun in everything!
My personal favourite night at Seven so far (besides my birthday last year).

Vincent lost in his own world.

Flare darlings.

Flare Dance Camp 2009! At lake eppalock.

It had cabins, bunk beds, campfires, rope courses, archery, and the works! And lovely, umm what do you call them? House-parents? Who prepared us 6 delicious meals a day:O

International Suit-Up Day, with a female twist:)

There were many august babies among us, and thus celebrations came pouring in one after another throughout the month. Happy belated birthday Ryan, Izzie and Wen Ting! <3>

Mid-review at Dancehouse.

Merdeka Celebration @ CQ Bar. 'Negaraku' and 'merdeka!' chants echoed at midnight. Who knew people could be so enthusiastic about singing (I mean, screeching out) the national anthem.

Look its Kenny Sia!

Melb Uni's Festival of Nations! Our darling Yee Hooi (the one in the centre) planned the whole thing, don't mess! *beams* Lovely photo captured by Izzie.

Okay thats all for now. Toooooods!

Anxiety

Exams are in 3 weeks and I am dying inside, thinking of what the next 3 weeks will be like.

Some very overdue pictures:

Flare dancers at the Dancesport gig a few Fridays back.

Dinner at Nobu for my birthday. Somehow Jiah Lit and I always end up there. That's cuz the food we order is always sooo good.

Sorry Caitlin, your flowers drooped after one day:(

Commemorating my birthday balloons.

Yes, that's right - what's left of my cake. Teehee:)

Dinner at St. Kilda Beach with Yee Hooi, Carmen, Caitlin, Jun Jing, Shen and Jiah Lit.

Very Bollywood-movie, no?

Yee Hooi looks kinda off the ground...
