All I have been doing this trip is makan makan makan

No wonder my dentist called me fat. Anyway, I'll be leaving for Melbourne tomorrow already, together with my family as we'll be going on a ski trip to Mount Buller. I'll miss my friends here so much. Sigh. Anyway, some pictures from my last week in Penang:

First off, together with some old classmates, I went for early dim sum Friday morning followed by a good ol' visit to MGS. It was so great to see Puan Ng again, and she hasn't changed a bit. Still the best and most lovable Maths teacher ever:)

MGS!

There's Mr Sara and Pn Leong. Is it me or is his belly even bigger now?

Traditional sleepover with my honeys:)

Our resident Miss Miow Miow, Shereen, came to Penang this past weekend!!

She came with a bunch of friends from KL and boy do they eat A LOT. Every meal table looked like that.

Dinner at Hai Nan Town in Weld Quay with Eevon and my family.

Ingolf's lunch with my brother, Jhensen.

Wan tan mee+Old Town catch up session with my very chatty+funny+gossipy Ann Ting & Ee Lynn<3

Dressing room fun!

Dinner at Crepes Cottage with Jhen, Darren, Ee Von and Sher.

Met up with Jasryn & Darren before that for cheesecake:)

Advice from Sher: Play more of "Wherever You Will Go'' for chicks.

Oh my god the desssertsss I've been having this past week:
This one's called John's Bananacrepes from Ingolf's.

Chocolate+ fruit pancakes at Manila Place.

This is the Flapjack from Crepes Cottage.

Oh Penang, I'll miss you!:(

"I need to get out of my Mexicoma'' -Carrie Bradshaw

Do you have days when you wake up and just feel so sick+tired+shitty about certain things? It could be anything, from your routines, to your lifestyle, to your looks and even the people around you. Well for the past few days I've been feeling fat and unhappy about myself. And I think maybe everyone goes through this phase where there just seems to be much more about yourself to criticize about. You become more negative, pick out flaws more easily, and basically feel like crap. Well I think for the past week, I've been in this somewhat self-loathing phase. And it is extremely unhealthy, I know this. All this negativity and dissatisfaction does not bring any good. Something needs to be done to snap me out of this coma.

Well, so today I was sitting with my mum in Old Town having kaya butter toast, when I suddenly decided that I hated my hair. Spontaneously, I went to my usual hair salon, Baptain, and got my highlights covered and coloured my hair.

Its now a dark almond brown, not a stark contrast to my previous hair colour, but you know what, it did make me feel better

Double Take

University of Melbourne Semester 1 2009 results are out.

And I suspect a miracle. How does this world work? The worst exam this semester turns out giving me the highest mark out of all my subjects. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful. But Microeconomics felt like the most horrid exam paper I've ever sat for (maybe on par with Malay karangan exams). Jeff Borland (lecturer) put me through a mortifying two hours of sweat, superspeed-writing, confusion, panic, painstakingly-hard thinking, and weird last-minute answers, followed by after-exam effects of dejection, sadness, fear, a lowered self-esteem and the whole maybe-i-ain't-cut-out-for-uni school of thought, only to award me one month later with a H1 (first-class honours) of 94%.

Ohmygod, maybe they marked the wrong paper?

Rituals

Every time I'm back in Penang, Eevon, Sher Lyn and I would go for Paddington's for pancakes. And we would always order the Treasure Box and share it for dessert. I love traditions:) This time though, much to our dismay, their portions shrank! Ugh. What else is new with restaurants these days.

Ee Von and Sher

Me and Ee Von

Me and Sher

micheevlyn. Hahaha, that was so form 4 of us.

We got real bored and a little silly while Sher was busy picking coloured shirts, so she ended up monologue-ing about which shirt to buy while Ee Von and I snapped away.

Matching pout-kisses

Oh we saw this really tall guy, is he realll??? The two guys beside him were of normal height (maybe 170cm or something) :O Look at the difference.

Please do not drive a Wira when you're around Sher Lyn. She claims Wira drivers are out to piss her off. Hahaha.

See the pretty maybe-palm tree reflected on my face?:)

After that we met up with Phey for dinner and managed to catch up with her since she's back for holidays from Nottingham U. Where is Kajang?? She claims it takes hours of driving to get to anywhere fun from Kajang.

Singing In The Rain Ain't Gonna Leave You Dry

Just like old times, I went to Eevon's house for lunch. And just like old times, her mother's cooking didn't disappoint:) *licks lips*
She wasn't even awake when I went over. So yay, I got to catch her all unglam.
 Haha.

Roti canai for breakfast, dimsum for dinner.
Very Posh Spice dear:)

Babe, cheer up okay! You know we're all behind you <3

Grey's Anatomy

*Spoiler Alert: for those of you who are Grey's followers and have not finished Season 5, you probably shouldn't read this post:)

I just finished Season 5 last night and I loved it. Grey's has always been one of my favourite shows, and its one of the very few series that I've been following all the way since its very first season. This season was awhhsome:):) And very very sad, but even more so, touching

This post is mainly about my favourite episode this season, Episode 22: "What A Difference A Day Makes". It made me bawl my eyes out like crap.

This is Izzie Stevens, a resident doctor in Seattle Grace Hospital, who turned into a patient of the hospital when she discovered she had stage 4 metastatic melanoma, which is skin cancer that spreaded to her brain, causing her to hallucinate all the time, about her dead fiancee and all, which was really sad to watch:( So anyway, her condition is really serious, and she's dying.

When she's not having cancer, this is how she looks like:
Katherine Heigl, who plays Izzie, is one heck of an actress:)

Alex Karev who is Izzie's boyfriend (played by Justin Chambers) was a real breakthrough character this season and really stepped up towards the end, in my opinion. He's changed so much after getting together with Izzie. I love it.

Izzie, Meredith and Cristina.
Izzie looking beautiful albeit the wheelchair and drips.

That's what I call love, what he did for her.

*melts*

So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad So sad

Haha, I'm a sucker for romantic plots. Plus the two main characters of the show, Meredith and Derek, do have their fair share of aww-worthy and heart-melting moments this season. Go watch go watch!

Some may dub Grey's as being overly-dramatic and depressing (lol), but when quality scrip-writing and believable acting come together so awesomely, who cares:) You can't help but get sucked into.
